UGANDA BANYARWANDA TRUST (UBT)
The Registered Trustees of the Ugandan Banyarwanda Trust is duly registered as a corporate body under the Trustees Incorporation Act Cap 271. The Trust’s registration number is T.38087, C.I No 1199. The birth of the Trust was inspired by the realization that many young Banyarwanda in Uganda are not familiar with their cultural norms, practices and language.
Banyarwanda are one of Uganda’s indigenous communities listed in the third schedule of the Constitution of the Constitution of the
Republic of Uganda, 1995. They have a constitutional right to enjoy, practice, profess, maintain and promote their culture, as well as promote and protect their economic and social interests.
The Trust is committed to promoting culture, preserving
the history of Banyarwanda in Uganda as well as encouraging co-existence with other communities in the collective pursuit of the economic and social development of all the regions in Uganda.
